A truck driver was killed on I-65 this morning when police say a sudden stop caused his load of steel piping to shift on top of him.
The victim, a 38-year-old Ohio man, died after he stopped his semi tractor-trailer along northbound I-65 north of the Raymond Street exit at about 7:51 a.m., said Indiana State Police Sgt. Ray Poole. “For some unknown reason, he stopped abruptly and the load shifted forward,” Poole said. “The heavy steel piping came into the back of the tractor, killing him.”
