New rules for CMV’s designed to transport between 9 and 15 passengers

The new regulation takes effect on May 3, 2010 (the day you will be cited) but no later than June 1, 2010 (the day they will fine you if they discover this violation).  CMV’s designed to transport between 9 and 15 passengers (including the driver) are now subject to the FMCSR’s; Parts 387, 390-399.  This applies to interstate commerce (including passengers picked up and delivered to airports) for more information go to:

On-board recorders will be required

The DOT will require on-board recorders for all companies that get a Critical violation on a review for Part 395 violations.  The new rule will go into effect on June 1, 2012.  Companies that do get a Critical violation in Part 395 will have to install on-board recorders on all of their trucks for at least two years regardless of when the truck was built.
